San Francisco Airport is testing out location-aware beacons to help visually-impaired people navigate around one of its newest terminals

After Virgin at LHR (with Estimote), HND (of sorts, and I'm not sure with which provider), SFO is having a go at enhanced navigation and location-based services. The app, developed by will help the blind and visually impaired find their way through the terminal—at least part of it, to start with. 300 so-called beacons (a low energy passive device) will be installed for this trial.
