From the patent illustrations and the subsequent renderings, it looks like they've opted for a modified version of the herringbone format employed by Virgin Atlantic, Cathay, Air New Zealand and a host of other carriers. But what's interesting about this new seat is the multi-purpose configurations that the seat seems to allow for. We should remind ourselves that a lot can happen between patent application and the finished product but this seems like an interesting evolution of a tried and tested business class seat.
