It looks like BA are prepping a new business class seat if a recent patent application is anything to go by. Australian Business Traveller landed the scoop and have some great analysis on the implications of the patent filing.
From the patent illustrations and the subsequent renderings, it looks like they've opted for a modified version of the herringbone format employed by Virgin Atlantic, Cathay, Air New Zealand and a host of other carriers. But what's interesting about this new seat is the multi-purpose configurations that the seat seems to allow for. We should remind ourselves that a lot can happen between patent application and the finished product but this seems like an interesting evolution of a tried and tested business class seat.
