I've recently stumbled upon the Twitter feed of the XH558, the last flying Avro Vulcan. The Vulcan To The Sky Trust behind it is really doing a nice job there.
The bomber was sold off by the UK Ministry of Defense in 1993 after more than 30 years of service. The following year, a small team of enthusiasts dreamed a plan to put it back in the sky which culminated in getting the airworthiness permit in 2008.
The project is not only a fantastic achievement of tenacity and passion, but it does a great work with educational objectives, understanding the Cold War era and inspiring the youth in technology.
You can learn more about the project and when to spot this impressive plane by checking the official website. It's going to appear at this coming week's Farnborough Airshow.
